Our School

Ottawa Chito-Kai teaches the traditional Okinawan Martial Arts of Karate and Ryukyu Kobujutsu. Since 1980, Ottawa Chito-Kai continually strives for excellence of traditional Okinawan Martial Arts.

Instructors

Classes are taught by Instructors trained and graded by Japanese and Canadian Senior instructors. With over 40 years of experience, International, National, and Provincial champions, NCCP Certified

Children

We offer a comprehensive children’s program based on the following principals of Respect for others, Personal discipline, and Having fun in a controlled and safe environment. While the children’s curriculum mirrors many of the skills and practices of our adult classes, our instructors adapt the content and learning approach to reflect a child’s different learning needs.

Adults

Our Adult program caters to adults of all levels and ages, usually age 15 and above. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced, the Adult Karate Program has a class for you. Using our national standardized curriculum, our trained and certified instructors can help you to achieve your fitness and martial art goals.

Ryukyu Kobujutsu

Ryukyu Kobujutsu is the ancient martial art using traditional weapons from the Ryukyu Islands. Ottawa Chito Kai offers courses in Ryukyu Kobujutsu and is a member of the Canadian Ryukyu Kobudo Kobujutsu Association that is mandated to preserve and promote the teachings of Ryukyu martial arts.
